My yoga journey began in 2008 in Baltimore, Maryland, while pursuing my Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy at Johns Hopkins University. After my very first 90-minute hot class, I knew this was the practice for me—sparking a lifelong path of self-realization through yoga.
In the spring of 2015, I completed Bikram Teacher Training in Thailand and soon began teaching part-time across the Pacific Northwest and abroad (Humboldt, CA; Sonoma, CA; Bend, OR; and Mexico) while working full-time as an environmental consultant.
As I taught, I discovered that the most meaningful way to inspire environmental stewardship was to first help people make healthier choices for themselves. I believe that when we are in tune with our own well-being, we are better prepared to make positive choices for our families, our communities, and the planet.
In 2018, I opened the doors to Humboldt Yoga, where I continue to share my passion for teaching public and private classes while also consulting in environmental science.
Most recently, I earned a Meditation Certification with the Chopra Organization, specializing in Primordial Sound Meditation—a daily practice that cultivates joy, harmony, and resilience in today’s fast-paced world.

On the advice of a wise physician mentor, Erin began practicing Bikram Yoga in 2001 while attending medical school. Throughout her career as a physician, she has traveled extensively, practicing at numerous studios across the country. Her focus has always been on the healing properties of yoga, with a particular interest in posture alignment and body mechanics.
Fulfilling a decades-long goal, Erin completed a 250-hour Hot Yoga Teacher Training through Evolation Yoga in 2023, accredited by Yoga Alliance. This training deepened her knowledge of breathwork, posture modifications for students with injuries, and the meditative aspects of the practice.
As both a physician and yoga instructor, Erin believes that a consistent yoga practice fosters true health and wellness. Her classes aim to unify body, mind, and spirit, while her healthcare background inspires her to encourage students to embrace yoga not just as a physical discipline, but as a way of life.
